Agent-Based Endpoints
Most Linux servers should be reached through a gateway. No agent is needed on the server.
The console still offers onboarding with the AuthNull agent. Go to Targets → Endpoints → Add endpoint and choose Linux or Windows.
| Machine | How to protect it |
|---|---|
| Linux server | Gateway (Linux server (via SSH gateway)). Use the agent only when a gateway is not possible |
| Windows machine | Agent only. Windows is not supported through a gateway |
note
Gateway actions, such as Connect, are for Linux servers behind a gateway. Agent-based machines use the flows in this section.
